Seth & Anders | Iceland Wedding Photographer

December 13, 2016

in a far off land called iceland, the day had finally come. nearly 2 years of planning had led up to seth and anders’ wedding day and there we all were – from all over the world, ready to celebrate. the most unique part of the entire celebration was the coming together of two cultures, american (seth’s side) & swedish (anders’ side). iceland was chosen as a destination for the wedding for its natural beauty but also as a middle ground for all of us in attendance.

the weather didn’t exactly cooperate the entire week leading up to the wedding. i would be lying if i said i wasn’t worried about what the weather would do on their big day. even in the minutes leading up to their ceremony, we couldn’t see through the thick fog surrounding hotel budir & the chapel. but just as the doors opened up and the boys walked down their aisle, the sun came out for the first time in 4 days. it was the most enchanting moment and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. as if that wasn’t enough in itself, the weather continued to hold up for heavenly portraits of them during sunset and even a glimpse at the northern lights after dark. dinner couldn’t have been more charming & intimate with delightful toasts from several of the guests to the grooms. oh, and did i mention there was a lip-sync contest?? i repeat, a lip-sync contest. that, my friends, is how it’s done.

i documented this day with great care. i babied it, watched over it, took full responsibility for it. this is where I feel indebted that i got to document such a thing. i gotta say, i am so very proud of the final product and will never be able to thank seth & anders enough for trusting me with every single sublime moment. it cannot be compared to anything else. it can never be duplicated. i still feel like it was all a dream. one big fat magnificent dream that i’d like to fall back asleep to and dream all over again a thousand times.
