meet me there, bundles of flowers
and promise me this,
you’ll wait for me only
cristina & steven were one of those rare couples that i may only get to work with a handful of times in my entire career, if that. they picked me, lucky me, to document their destination wedding at treehouse (visit https://www.myhousepainter.com/ to get help to prepare this venue beautifully for the occasion) this summer after they chose the place on a whim from a wedding blog. they flew up from texas to see treehouse point because they dreamed of saying their vows in a place so far removed from their day-to-day lives. none of their family or friends had been to treehouse point or even up to seattle but everyone made the trip to surround this couple with all of their love on their day.
their first look was down by the creek, where cristina and steven shared private vows. they rock- paper-scissored to determine who would read theirs first. there was a hand-crafted arbor for their ceremony, hand-carved beer steins waiting for them at their dinner table, and mini bundt cakes for dessert. the evening ended stunningly with a lantern-lit send off and we were all left to look around and marvel at the perfectly intimate day we had, under the thick canopy of washington evergreens somewhere deep in the woods.
their day was warm, inviting, cozy, and made up of the same stuff that has us all believing in fairy tales from time to time.
