i’d say it was quite the morning. obviously, when adidas emailed me to cover their new product line launch for derrick rose and his much anticipated return, i was all in. “all in for d rose.” i arrived early this morning to the chicago illuminating company, not really knowing what to expect. i just knew i wasn’t ever going to put my camera down.
adidas pulled off a flawless event, creating an intimate but dramatic atmosphere for all of us to come together with derrick, his family, friends and some press to help make it a memorable day for d. rose and adidas brand. it was such a well-oiled machine, the way it all came together and i am so thankful that i was asked to come experience it.
i joined the ranks of captivated derrick fans after today. i got emotional as they told the story of how his logo came to be. his relationship with his mom, his humility, graciousness, devotion to family, friends, fans, team and his city. and even his genuine tears during the presentation. all of who he is will only continue to strengthen this new brand, his game, his team, and his future as he returns in november.
