i was over on the east coast already two weekends back, shooting a few sessions, when i got a text from my sorority big sister, erin. “i’ve got a surprise for you, little…” and then she sent me a picture of her ring. we had been waiting for this day for a while. since we met in college, erin and i have had that soulmate connection. she was one of the first faces i saw my freshman year at james madison university, helping me move in and making me feel welcome. i know now that she went back to her friends and said, “ok, i met my little today. we just have to get her to rush first.” a few weeks later, i pledged alpha sigma tau and we’ve been sisters ever since. we loved having coffee dates at barnes & noble between classes. we’d sit near the magazines and flip through all things wedding for hours. long before we had men we’d be marrying in our lives.
i met RC my senior year. i headed up to baltimore that spring and spent some time with erin and this new man in her life. loved him then, love him even more now. they’ve bought a house since then, making it into a beautiful home for them and their furbaby, tucker.
after i got the text two weeks ago, i told her i had to come out and shoot an engagement session. as long as i was on the east coast, we had to fit it in. and we did. we headed to an area of rolling hills and picket fences and green for acres. it was a dream session to shoot- with such a beautiful couple, the perfect backdrop, and a bulldog that stole the show a bit.
