Shannon & Emilio | Chicago History Museum Wedding

i can’t wait to shoot a wedding day for many reasons. as the big day approaches, i like to grab dinner with my brides or go visit the venue and talk about last minute details. i swear i have the most creative clients and i am continually amazed at the amount of personality that shines through each event. i was especially looking forward to shannon & emilio’s for such a long time because they chose a museum as their venue and this was a first for me to shoot. i had made a visit to the chicago history museum on my own the week before and when i walked into the room where the event would be taking place, i leapt a little. envisioning it all got me a little giddy for the wedding to come.
i made sure i didn’t miss a single detail, as instructed by the bride. there were many hands that helped in pulling this wedding together, including various DIY projects, meticulous floral arrangements,delicate place cards, and even custom-designed rings by the groom himself. to me, that’s almost the most exciting part- capturing all the mini details that makeup a glorious day. i was in heaven with so much to focus on throughout the day. her shoes in particular, were my favorite i’ve seen so far. it was brilliant to invite a 9-member mariachi band to play while the guests arrived and during the cocktail hour to set the mood for a multi-cultural affair. and the mexican dishes incorporated throughout the menu were divine.

shannon & emilio’s day was one of extreme celebration to see the two unite and an elegant, convivial atmosphere made this the perfect day. all my love to the newlyweds. wishing you all the happiness to come!
