i met kevin at trinity forum academy when i was a fellow there in 2009. he came for an interview and i showed him around. he lived in chicago at the time and i knew i was moving back there. as soon as i moved back to chicago, he was accepted to the academy and it was there that him and mindy found each other.
she is a walking talking example of purehearted, selfless joy. if you accidentally stepped on her foot, she’d ask if the bottom of your foot was ok.
he is a no-nonsense, get after it, kinda guy. in his career, his faith, and (i was told) in his pursuit of mindy.
they gathered an intimate group of friends and family in austin, tx to witness them be married, share some cake, laugh with some memorable speeches, take part in a chinese tea ceremony, and send them on their way as man and wife.
it was a short, sweet, delicate, peaceful and absolutely perfect celebration. exactly what they wanted it to be.

the most darling place holders. exquisitely cut birds on top of the champagne glasses with each guest’s name and name of a famous author for each table. i sat at shakespeare. the marrieds were at dickinson.
note to self: copy mindy on this and throw lilac at my own wedding. the scent lingered while we all chatted our way to our cars. a beautiful ending to the afternoon.

pretty pretty! i’ve shot a few weddings where lavender was thrown… it smells pretty, but gets EVERYWHEREEEEEE. I find it days later in my shoes and in my camera bag.
