does anyone else ever marvel at just how small the world actually is? sometimes life introduces you to people and you can’t believe how their stories intertwine with yours so unexpectedly. and then facebook has that handy feature with “friends in common” and the world gets even smaller.
erica, brian and i met through mutual friends from college in chicago and realized that we all grew up in new hampshire of all places. when they asked me to photograph their big day, i got so excited that i’d be heading back to my old stomping grounds. but what i should have been most excited about was the details of how their day would unfold. it is so evident that erica & brian are the types of people that surround themselves with fun-loving, super kind individuals. and their wedding day was filled with acts of love from their community. a surprise a cappella version of “signed, sealed, delivered” was sung from the balcony of the church as they recessed. brian sang with his quartet at the reception. erica’s dad surprised her with the song he chose for their first dance. erica & brian surprised us all with a choreographed ballroom dance for their first dance.
joys and smiles and love was in every inch of their day and i was just a lucky girl with a camera, trying my darndest to capture all the inches.
