it’s my third sunny day in seattle. and in an area of the country where i’ve heard sun isn’t the norm, it’s liberating. after a four-day trek to get out here from chicago, it’s been exhilarating to be on my own schedule again. and in a town that is brand new to me, no less. hardly anyone knows me here. i hardly know how to get myself around. i even pulled into the carwash from the other end and was yelled at yesterday morning. sorry, i’m not from around here.
apartment hunting for a new place has been a bit exhausting and much harder than finding one in chicago, i think. in my experience, i think seattle’s even more expensive than chicago in a lot of instances.
things i’m realizing:
1) asking for sweetener in my coffee is a no no.
2) using my ebrake in my car is a new habit i must get used to.
3) these are my people. for real.
4) the weather isn’t ALWAYS cold and rainy. it’s been glorious the past few days.
5) jet lag, or road lag, is real. and it’s left me a bit sick and in a need of catchup. and really really tired at weird hours in the day.
all this to say, i’m already in love with things here. every day is new right now and i’m not entirely sure my brain knows i’m not just on vacation right now. because it certainly feels the same as one.
i have engagement sessions and babies and more seattle updates coming up on the blog in the next few days. but for now, enjoy some of my favorite images from the road trip out here. they’re pretty. real pretty. heck, if you’re interested in using in high res image as your desktop background, leave me a comment letting me know which image you’d like, and i’ll email it your way!
