i had been looking forward to this session for a very long time. i had only met melissa once quite a long time ago when she lived in chicago for a bit. since meeting her, she’s been following my work and so when she got engaged to her soulmate, the emails started coming. i was anxious to meet steve and when the three of us started shooting, it was easy as pie. the two are madly in love and knew exactly how they wanted the session to go. i wanted monuments and some dc flair. they wanted bikes because of steve’s love for the hobby. we couldn’t find any bikeshares with any left so we ended up asking a few innocent bystanders if we could borrow their bikes for just a smidge if i agreed to take an awesome photo of them. thank you to that awesome pittsburgh couple that obliged!
